Professional Bio

Sarah Jane Semrad is a detail-oriented creative networker who has used her skills and talents to fundraise for major North Texas nonprofits, bolster the grassroots Dallas arts scene and curate in-person events to foster learning. She is currently available with a new-ish venture called Living Mandala Consulting where she serves individuals and businesses in areas of optimization.
From 2017 to 2022, she served as the Vice President of Membership of KERA where she supervised fundraising efforts for two public radio outlets, 90.1 KERA-FM (NPR) and 91.7 KXT-FM (AAA music), along with public broadcasting member television station, KERA-TV (PBS). During her time with KERA, she oversaw dozens of pledge drives across all stations and developed fundraising strategies that brought in over $60 million dollars over the course of 5 years.
Previously, she served as the Perot Museum of Nature and Science’s Director of Membership, where she oversaw the museum's membership program and benefits. Membership revenue grew year over year during her tenure there. Prior to that, while serving as KXT’s Marketing and Membership Manager, she handled all fundraising, marketing and social media. She also helped this upstart indie music station launch its annual signature music festival, Summer Cut, attracting thousands of attendees at its peak. During her time at KXT, she developed several creative fundraising campaigns featuring local artists that resonated with a fun-loving rock and roll audience.
In 2006, she co-founded La Reunion TX, a nonprofit that created an artist residency program in Dallas. During her involvement, La Reunion occupied a historical spot in West Dallas that offered space for outdoor art installations and welcomed visiting artists to create landscape-specific pieces. She is also a co-founder of Art Conspiracy, which connected local artists and musicians, to help raise money for creative nonprofits in the Dallas area. Along with starting nonprofits, she also started several art galleries including IR Gallery, Pigeon-Stone Project, Magnolia Gallery and CorinthPark.
Sarah Jane earned a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Southern Methodist University studying spiritual and metaphysical topics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dallas where she majored in chemistry. She is a certified organizational specialist, a certified feng shui consultant and holds a certificate in nonprofit leadership through SMU / Center for Nonprofit Management. She and her husband, Paul, are long-time residents of the Winnetka Heights neighborhood of Dallas where they enjoy fixing up their 100-year-old house. Their daughter, Eva, is a recent college graduate, and son, Jiri, is in his junior year of college.
