Thursday, Sept. 28, 8pm – "Collecting and Collectivity: The Enigmatic Dialectic of Dallas"
La Reunion advisor Charissa Terranova will discuss the history of the La Reunion settled in Dallas over 150 years ago. She places the colony in the greater history of community formation and art collecting in the city. In particular she will highlight the philosophical teachings of Fourier and the history of the original La Reunion colony as it is an early example of "collectivity" here in Dallas. Terranova holds a Ph.D. in architectural history and theory from Harvard and is currently a local art critic and assistant professor of art history at SMU. Admission is free.
Organic, fair trade, shade grown, locally micro-roasted coffee and dessert provided by vegetarian and vegan specialists Crosby Cafe & Catering.
