charmed life
yesterday, we dropped off eva at her grandparent's house to do an art camp at the fort worth modern this week. i'm jealous and want to take the classes but alas, i'm not 7. anyway, we were encouraged to check out the permanent collection before she started her classes this week. and check it out, we did. we played inside the impressive richard serra piece out front and took turns jumping and clapping and singing inside to generate the cool echo noises that the piece makes happen.
then we went inside and explored (at a 7 year old's pace) some of the works of art. one of my favorite pieces and the one we spent the most time with was hiraki sawa's dwelling.
we laughed pretty hard at the beginning, but then got a little stressed out towards the end. the busier those planes got, the more near misses with other planes, door frames, and toothbrushes there were.
i got a call from her earlier today and it sounds like day one was magnificent. lovely memories she'll have.
