dallas is small. the internet only makes it smaller.
warning: it's a classic sarah-jane-rant.
in the googlable age in which we operate, dallas (specifically the dallas art/music scene) shrinks to the size of a pin-head. negative commentary made by jaded (read: old and tired and pathetic) individuals is, i suppose, a necessary and yet uncomfortable part of trying something new and/or sustaining innovative projects in our fair city. questioning is a good thing. talking smack is another animal altogether. there's this notion that one can be critical (or flat out mean) and still manage to be "legit" through annonymity. or is it just a way to avoid taking responsibilty for opinions? whatever. the fact is, annonymity reduces credibility. the beautiful part about everyone i care to work with is that they are willing to act *and* slap their name on it. own it. in the end, my friends, jealousy doesn't contribute to creativity in our city. the end.
