super bowl party

it's great being in a circle of people that seriously don't care about football in the same way that we don't. the party we went to..... kids ran around wild, lots of food and beer, the game was on, but uh, no one was watching. a small crowd gathered when paul mccartney played, but other than that groups of people just sat on the porch and talked while erykah badu played in the kitchen....

it's funny, no one even knew who was playing. no one. (i know, because i kept asking, like that bit of 'trivia' would help in in a conversation tomorrow or something) new-england-something-or-other-maybe?? here's the thing: we all just want to have a sense of community and have tonight not be like any other sunday night. everyone else in the country is having a great time and partying and getting together.... why can't we? the game being on was simply obligatory.... so just in case sir paul had a wardrobe malfunction, we would know about it.
