gettin' hitched.
paul and i got married by the justice of the peace in the courthouse. yvonne was there. so was barry. i wore a really cool dress i picked up at northpark and paul wore a new suit. we allowed no pictures. there were no flowers, music, seating of parents.... nope, just me and paul and yvonne and barry and yvonne's boyfriend at the time. (what was his name? chris?) afters we went out for thai food and then took my grandma to the airport.
a few days later we were at the airport again and off on our honeymoon. but not before doing a mass mailing of these fancy little embossed cards in wedding font that said something like, "surprize! we're married and honeymooning in spain. just thought you might want to know...." we spent three fantastic weeks back-packing spain and staying in youth hostels and visiting little dive bars and soaking in the orange groves. we took this one bus ride that lasted something like 10 hours from granada to valencia and for at least four hours of it we were the only two people on the bus..... it was so romantic.
many many wonderful pictures were taken and we had no schedule, no agenda, no where to be. when we got home, i was pregnant.
we had a keg party at sons of hermann hall a few weeks later and the lucky pierres played. there was no stress. no bouquets. no drama. it was the perfect way for us to get married.
different people choose different places.
