pledge week is a bore, everybody say hey-hey
people who know me really well know that i get kinda' restless during the fall pledge drive on KERA. my nerd-o-meter starts beeping and my whole week gets disoriented. i can not wait until friday when this thing is over! seriously.
not all is lost though! the fall membership drive is also when i tune-in to all my rap stations. 106.7 KDL 'the texas party station' is my new favorite. there's this one song where the guy starts listing names of his ladies.... 'moesha, lavonda, crystal, yvonne..... sabrina, cristina, charquinta, shavonne....' or whatever. there's also this classic line about, 'i'm spawnin' now'. the best part is cranking it up with all the windows down (no kids of course) just to see people's expressions. i always flash a purty smile and look in the rearwiew mirror just as i hit the gas. i'm laughing right now just thinking about it. gawd, i'm a nerd. yo.
